by nestarshockey posted 05/08/2012 The New England Stars are proud to announce that forwards James Devlin and Quinn Carroll have signed contracts with the Kemptville 73’s of the Central Canada Hockey League. The CCHL is one of ten members of the Canadian Junior Hockey League, the top Tier II Junior A league in Canada.
“We are very pleased that James and Quinn will be playing in a highly competitive league that attracts plenty of NCAA schools. They have worked very hard during their time with us and are very deserving of this opportunity,” Stars’ Head Coach Darryl Green said.
“In a year or two, I am sure we will be talking about what NCAA school they will be attending,” he added.
The Stars Junior program is designed to move players to their next level and with Devlin and Carroll moving on, prospective Stars players should take notice.
Devlin has been a part of the Stars program for four years. He played one year with the Junior B club and three years with the top team. Carroll has played the last two years with the top team.
General Manager Dan Fontas echoed Green’s statement, "I am very happy for both James and Quinn on their advancement to the Kemptville 73's. They are great hockey talents and I know they will represent our program very well."
Fontas has known Devlin and Carroll for some time now and has seen them grow as people and players, "for me, this is what it is all about. We want to move kids on to a higher level, whatever that level is," he said smiling. “You have to be patient and both of these young men were during their process, now they are being rewarded."
