The New England Stars will open the 2014-2015 hockey season at home Sept 20 against the Junior Mariners.

The Stars, who will be the Eastern division of the NSHL, will play the Cape Cod Islanders, Maine Wild, Junior Mariners, and New Hampshire Fighting Spirit six times each. They will also have cross over games with the Western division teams. The Stars will host 19 home games in all.

On Sept. 27 and 28, the Stars and Islanders will have their first set of home-and-home games; the Stars will also have a set of home-and-home games Oct. 4 and 5 with the Maine Wild.

On Oct. 18, the Stars will host their annual Paint the Rink Pink game, which seeks to raise money for Dana Farber to support research and patient care. Players will wear their special pink jerseys, wear pink tape and lace up pink skate laces to show their support for the cause. Last year, the event raised more than $6,000 for Dana Farber.

Leading up to holiday break, the Stars and Fighting Spirit will face off again in home-and-home battles on Dec. 12 and 13. After the break, the Stars will get ready to face the Maine Timberwolves on Jan. 9 and 10.

The Stars will attend all three NSHL showcases, the first of which will be in at Morrisville College in New York on Columbus Day Weekend. The Stars will "host" the second showcase at Conway Arena in Nashua, New Hampshire Nov. 8-10. The third will be in Lockport, New York on Martin Luther King Weekend. The majority of league cross over games will happen at the showcases, during which the Stars will face the Syracuse Stampede, Wilkes-Barre Miners, Lockport Express, Roc City Royals and Jersey Shore Wildcats.
