Taker Signs AHL Contract

Former New England Star Shayne Taker has signed a contract to play with the San Antonio Rampage of the AHL.

Taker recently finished his senior year at Notre Dame. The Fighting Irish fell short in the NCAA national tournament, losing 4-3 in overtime to St. Cloud State, ending their hockey season. Taker notched four goals and 13 assists in 40 games with the Irish.  He finished his college career with eight goals and 39 assists in 152 games.

Taker played for the New England Stars before moving on to the Cowichan Valley Capitals of the BCHL. A native of Surrey, B.C., the stay-at-home defenseman strength's include staying calm under pressure and reading the ice well. 

The New England Stars wish Taker the best of luck in his professional hockey career.
