The Stars have signed forward Andre Nybo, a '95, of Norway.
"He came recommended to me through a hockey contact that I have, and after doing some homework, I think he will fit into what we are about," said Stars General Manager Dan Fontas. "He seems like a high character kid who will show up every day and give 100 percent. As a staff, that's what we look for, kids who will walk in and be committed and not have any excuses."
Nybo spend last season in the Norway U20 league, where he notched 5 goals and 5 assists in 28 games.
"I think time will tell what kind of a player he will be for us, I think he is more of a physical player, but we won't really know his role until he gets into the system and gels with our players," said Fontas.
Nybo will certainly have to do some adjusting to game once he gets to New England.
"It's a big change for him, anytime a European player comes over and plays this style of juniors, it is a trasnition. It's a smaller ice surface so his time and space will be taken away from him a little bit," said Fontas. "But learning more about him, I think he will adjust pretty well."
