  • The New England Stars 2002 premier team fell to the Boston Stars 5-3 on Saturday morning at Skate 3 Arena. Goal scorers were Michael Kenney, Jake Figueroa and John Lessard.
  • The Bantam Minor Elites played the Walpole Express on Saturday and lost 5-1. It was tied 0-0 after 1 but the team lost composure in the third. On Sunday they played he other New England Stars team and won 4-0,  dominating from start to finish.
  • The Mite Minor team's weekend was a busy one as they hosted Berlin NH for two home games on Saturday and invited the N. Shore Ice Hawks for a friendly scrimmage on Sunday.  The Stars earned a split on Saturday winning the first game 6-5 led by Jeffrey Zou who put on a shooting clinic and netted all 6 in the win.  Though his efforts put numbers on the scoreboard, the entire team skated hard, made good decisions with the puck, and played tough in front goalie Austin Gartner.  It was an all around great team effort that led to the first league game win for the Stars.

The Stars lost the 2nd game to Berlin 7-5. Ryan Gambale, Matthew Hall, James Mantone and Jeffrey Zou all contributed to the scoresheet in this one.  The team expanded their on ice vision, were making great tape to tape passes and creating space between themselves and Berlin.  Great back checking by Camden Miller, Hunter Lammi and Zou kept this hard fought game close, but a few bounces went Berlin's way and gave them the victory.Though it counted as a loss in the standings, it was a big win for a team that has been trying to find their identity all season.  The Stars will travel to Berlin in February for two and will look to come home with a few W's from that series.

Sunday the Stars hosted the Ice Hawks and prevailed 8-0 over the team that had beaten them 2-0 a month ago.  The shutout was a first for goalie Michael Dango who made some key saves down the stretch. The team looked energized and played the most complete game of the season.  They kept their skates moving and used their teammates to move the puck up the ice.  Every goal had at least one assist and scoring was highlighted by this nasty backhand shot from Jeffrey Zou.  Camden Miller, Matthew Hall, Hunter Lammi and Memphis Belleville also contributed to the scoring.

The Stars host the East Coast Wizards on Saturday and will look to continue their new found up tempo style of play.

  • The Mite Major team had two games this past weekend.  The team laced up the skates and took the ice at the Tri-Town Arena in Hooksett NH on Saturday afternoon. The highlight of the game was a beautiful goal Joey Dekarski netted in the first to tie the game at 1. The Stars continued to battle but in the end came up a little short and lost the game to the West River Royal.

The team, looking to bounce back, hit the ice Sunday morning at Skate 3 to take on the East Coast Wizards.  The Stars came out getting on the scoreboard with a goal by Gage Richard Assisted by David Wood.  Kaiden Belleville scored the 2nd goal assisted by Joey DeKarski as well as the 3rd goal.  The team continued pressing in the second period with goals by Gavin Petrucci and David Wood (both unassisted).  In the final period the Gage Richard scored his second goal of the game which was assisted by David Wood.

This was a solid effort by the entire team.  Goalie Tyler Santosuosso stopped ever shot that he faced and the Mite Majors finished the weekend with a big 6-0 win.
