  • The New England Stars Bantam major premier team played Saturday away against the Central Mass Outlaws. The team had a strong start going up 2-1 after the first period. After a weak second period where the outlaws were able to tie the game, my team once again shower that their biggest strength is their third period which they outplayed the outlaws and won the game 4-3. Joe Kenney was our spark scoring two goals and making smart decisions for us.  Sunday the team played home against the Dual State Riverhawks. The team had a very weak start which ended the period with a 2-0 deficit. In the second period my team outplayed the Riverhawks and most of the time controled the puck in their zone. The Riverhawks were able to score one more when a knuckle puck bounced off of Dakota Robinson's glove. The third period was in my teams control. We scored a quick first shot goal making it 3-1 early on. We were able to score a PP goal by Joe Kenney on a good tic tax toe play from Mills and Natale 5 minutes left in the game. The last 1-30 we pulled the goalie in a desperate move to try to even the score but the Riverhawks found a way to score an empty better making it 4-2 final. Our leader that game was John Natale.

  • The Mite Major team had a game Sunday morning against the East Coast Wizards.  Prior to the game, the team dedicated the game to New England Star #22 Cam Ricard who passed away tragically December 9, 2013.  With that the team, looking for a strong start, got on the board with an early goal by David Wood.  The Wizard answered shortly after to tie the game. The Stars kept pushing with aggressive play by Aiden Husson.  Wood scored his second goal of the game from a nice pass from Gavin Petrucci.  Again the Wizards answered and tied the game at two at the end of the first period.   7:31 in the 2nd period  Kaiden Belleville went end to end and scored a sweat goal to put the Stars in the lead.  A short while later the Wood scored his third goal to increase the lead by 2.  But again the Wizard battle back and got a late goal to cut the lead to 1.  Heading into the 3rdperiod in a tight game Coach Husson got the boys poised to finish the game strong.  The Stars did just that, Matthew Kaplan started it and went end to end to score an unassisted goal just 54 seconds into the 3rd. A minute later Joey DeKarski scored an unassisted goal.  The Stars kept pushing with another goal by Kaiden Belleville assisted by Joey DeKarski.  Jacob Lee got on the board next with a sweat wrap around goal.  Joey DeKarski netted his second goal of the game shortly thereafter.  Late in the game Matthew Kaplan took a shot from the point and Mark Anthony Angiuoni redirected to score.  The Stars played extremely well in front of net minder Tyler Santosuosso.  Tyler had another solid game and made some great saves when the team needed them.  The team finished the game with a 10-3 win.

  • The Bantam Minor Elite team had a rough loss to the South Shore Conquistadors on Sundays. Careless penalties and a game misconduct led us to a 6-0 defeat. On Sunday, the Stars faced have the second best team in the conference, the Walpole Express. It was great back and forth game. The game ended up in a 2-2 tie. Overall wonderful effort by our team.
